Recognizing Achievements of the Students, Staff, Schools, and District

The Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees recognizes the importance of the achievements of the district, schools, staff, and students.

At each board meeting, the board presents certificates to students, staff, schools, and departments who receive significant awards. Click here to see past award recipients.

The board also recognizes community businesses, organizations, and individuals who make important contributions to our district or our schools.

The following lists can help you determine if an honor or achievement qualifies for recognition. However, this list is not all inclusive.

Student Honors

  • First place state level award that is equivalent of a first place award at the state level.
  • First, second, or third place national level awards or awards that are equivalent to first, second, and third places at the national level.
  • Winners at international competitions.
  • National Merit Commended Students, Semifinalists, and Finalists.
  • National Achievement Commended Students, Semifinalists, and Finalists.
  • Palmetto Fellows.
  • Presidential Scholars.
  • Robert C. Byrd scholarship recipients.
  • District winner for holiday card artwork contest.
  • State Superintendent's Writing Awards.

Staff Honors

  • County/regional, state, or national awards.
  • Grant recipients.
  • Successful participation in special invitation only training or development program.
  • Employees chosen for leadership positions in professional organizations at the state level.
  • Employees who earn professional certification such as National Board Certification, school nurse certification, and behavior analyst certification.
  • Employees who contribute to an article, story, presentation, etc., to a publication.

School/Department Honors

  • County/regional, state, or national awards.
  • Grant recipients.

Community Appreciation Awards

  • Volunteer service that goes above and beyond.
  • Donors who make monetary or in-kind contributions of no less than $500.

How do I nominate someone?

If you feel that we need to recognize someone at your school or in your department, please use the Google Form links below to send information to the Communications Office.

You must include:

  • Name of recipient (include address if the recipient is a student)
  • Honor of achievement
  • Date honor or achievement received
  • Name pronunciation
  • Photos (candid preferred)
