Lexington County School District One works with community
organizations to make information about not-for-profit activities
or services available to families.
We make these
approved fliers available on the district Web site
as electronic fliers for your
convenience.
We do not distribute fliers to students.
If your flier and group meet the criteria outlined below, e-mail your request
to the
Communications Office.
Your e-mail MUST INCLUDE proof that you are a non-profit
organization (a copy of your approved 501c3), a copy of the flier
you want approved (preferably in pdf format), your organization’s full name and address, your
name, your title, an e-mail address and a telephone number.
How do I get a flier approved?
All requests from groups or individuals to make information about
not-for-profit activities or services available to
Lexington County School District One students through this Web site
will be referred to the Communications Office.
The Chief Communications Officer will determine whether the requests
comply with overall district purpose and policy.
Once approved, the Communications Office will put a link to the
approved flier on its Web site.
On its Web site,
Lexington County School District One allows approved information or brochures from nonprofit (501C3)
organizations ONLY (Boy Scouts, the YMCA, Girl Scouts, Lexington One
Community Coalition, etc.) — providing their material meets our
standards and has been pre-approved by the Communications Office.
We do not approve the distribution nor Web publication of a flier by a “for profit”
organization even if that organization is offering something “free”
to our students.
We also do not approve fundraising efforts from nonprofit groups.
The distribution of published material for non-school organizations
within the schools is prohibited without permission. Published
materials would include posters, circulars, advertisements and
similar items.
No commercial publications will be posted or distributed unless
their purpose is to further a school activity, such as graduation,
class pictures or class rings.
If you are interested in having a flier put on our Web site list,
you MUST be a non-profit organization whose:
Programs or events
are held within Lexington County;
Activities benefit
our students, help develop character, etc.;
Programs or events
are youth-related or related to youth education;
Flier comes from
approved youth character-building organizations;
Flier pertains to
activities of the community recreation program;
Flier does not
promote nor discourage religion;
Flier is
nondenominational in nature;
Flier includes
information about the organization’s non-profit status;
Flier contains school
names only as part of the location information for events held
at schools and in no way implies event is endorsed by school or
district;
Flier clearly
displays the sponsoring organization’s name and contact
information on the flier; and
Flier does not
disrupt the educational process, violate the rights of others,
include material that is defamatory, invade the privacy of
others, infringe on a copyright, or be obscene, vulgar or
indecent.
