Gilbert D.O.G.S.

Gilbert D.O.G.S. is an innovative program focusing on the prevention of violence in schools by using the positive influence of fathers for a two-fold purpose: (1)to provide an unobtrusive security presence, and (2)to provide a positive and active role-model for children at school. Fathers, stepfathers, and grandfathers are asked to spend time volunteering as security monitors, reading mentors, sports referees, listening ears, or for whatever needs to be done to plant seeds of success in the lives of children.

The Gilbert D.O.G.S. have helped with Bingo Night, the Fall Health & Safety Fair, Spring Fling, Flower Sale, and Field Days. They have also started cleaning up a 2-mile section of Peach Festival Road to help keep our community beautiful ~ look for the Adopt-A-Highway signs on your way toward Highway #1.  If you are interested in becoming involved in Gilbert D.O.G.S., contact Roy Turner at 892-1200.
