District celebrates high marks

Sep 20 2018

With the most gains in English language arts and social studies, scores released by South Carolina Department of Education show Lexington County School District One students exceeded the state average in every grade and subject tested on the S.C. Palmetto Assessment of State Standards (SC PASS) and South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Assessments (SC READY).

The percentage of Lexington District One students passing the assessments increased in nearly every grade and subject tested.

During the 2017–2018 school year, students in grades 4, 6 and 8 took the SC PASS science assessment, while students in grades 5 and 7 took the SC PASS social studies assessment. In previous years, students took both social studies and science.

The tables below show the percentage of students scoring “meets or exceeds expectations” in science and the percentage of students scoring “met” or “exemplary” in social studies, compared to the state. This data represents students who met or exceeded the state benchmark.
