Dec 13 2018

The 2019 Tri-District Arts Consortium Summer Program nomination period opened this week for middle school students who attend the public schools of Lexington County School District One, School District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties, and Richland County School District Two.

This year marks the 34th year Tri-DAC has provided students an outstanding and concentrated study of the arts through this summer program.

Artistically gifted and talented students, rising sixth-through ninth-graders in the summer before the 2019–2020 school year, may audition in creative writing, dance, music (strings, vocal and wind/percussion), theatre or visual art.

The Palmetto Center for the Arts at Richland Northeast High School hosts Tri-DAC, from July 1 to July 20, from 9 a.m.–3:15 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and until 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The program will be off July 4 and 5. Cost for the three-week program totals $400.

Teachers, administrators or parents may nominate students using the form available at www.tridac.org. Tri-DAC accepts nominations until January 15, 2019.

Auditions for vocal, wind/percussion and visual art students will be Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Richland Northeast High School. Auditions for the areas of creative writing, dance, strings, theatre and visual art students will be Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Richland Northeast High School. There will be no make-up auditions.
