The Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
Meetings are open to the public.
Normally, the board holds their meetings in the Auditorium of the District Office located at 100 Tarrar Springs Road in Lexington.
The board holds its executive sessions prior to the public meeting. However, members of the board take no action in executive session. They take all action in open session.
Using the third Tuesday as a rule, the board set the following regular monthly meeting dates for the 2010–2011 school year: July 20, Aug. 17, Sept. 21, Oct. 19, Nov. 16 and Dec. 14 in 2010 and Jan. 18, Feb. 15, March 15, April 12, May 17 and June 21 in 2011.
Lexington One’s Communications Office notifies the media of all regular or special meeting dates as well as any date or location changes well in advance of the meeting.
Board members are elected for four-year terms and receive no financial compensation for serving as members of our Board of Trustees.
They carry the message and mission of the district to community residents; participate in various district functions, school events and community meetings; and spend countless hours reading, researching and studying materials — all this in addition to the many hours they spend attending board meetings on the third Tuesday night of each month.
They carefully develop policies, take actions and make decisions for our schools that reflect the values and expectations of the citizens of the Gilbert, Lexington, Pelion and White Knoll attendance areas.
