Among other things, staff are responsible for maintaining internal and external communications for the district; managing requests for information; writing and publishing press releases, annual reports, internal and external newsletters, handbooks, and other information; and answering inquiries from the public. The Communications Office coordinates the district’s Teacher of the Year program, retiree recognition, dedications, award recognitions and other special events. The Communications Office also serves as liaisons between the district, the community, the legislature and the media and assists in coordinating media coverage of the educational process in Lexington County School District One schools.
