Meeting Schedule

The SIC meets once each month during the school year. Meetings are generally held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room in the Main Office.

The Purpose of the School Improvement Council

  • Assist in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the SACS plan
  • Assist in the preparation of yearly plan updates
  • Assist with the development and monitoring of school improvement and innovation
  • Develop an annual school report to the parents and constituents of the school by February first of each year to provide information on the school's progress in meeting the school and district goals and objectives
  • Provide advice on the use of school incentive grant awards
  • Serve as a liaison between the school, school organizations, the community, and the local school board by collecting and disseminating information about school improvement
  • Provide other assistance that the principal may request as well as carrying out any other duties prescribed by the local school board

The full-length version of the SC-SIC Handbook Powerpoint presentation features the complete text and 117 slides that were used to create the videotaped version of the Handbook and is very detailed. The mini-workshop version of the SC-SIC Handbook Powerpoint presentation is a mini-workshop presentation of the Handbook information (39 slides), which is meant to be used as a general overview of the key topics contained in the Handbook.
