 Overview for Teachers

 

Students will participate as part of a research team that will study a chosen country.  The team will look for specific information about their country.  At the end of the Web-Quest, students will create a Power Point to present to the teacher, class, and parents. 

This Web-Quest covers first and second grade standards.

 

Resources needed for this Web-Quest:

1 computer for each group

Construction paper    

Scissors

Markers, paint, crayons              

Glue

Selected library texts about the chosen countries

Introduction for Students

Someone from Lexington is planning a big trip and has asked you for help.  He wants to visit a different country, but needs to know more information about the country before his visit.  Your team is going to research the country and create a presentation for him.


 

Quest(ions) and the Task

Your task is to be an expert on your country. You need to research and complete your Country Questions in order to tell why your country should be chosen for a client’s visit.  Finally, your group will create a Power Point presentation demonstrating the information you have gathered. Let’s begin.

Step 1: The group members will choose a country.

Step 2: Each member will click on their group’s country and begin researching their information.

After you make your choices your group will be responsible for making your product to display your knowledge.

Process

     Now that your group has researched a country, you need to begin creating your presentation.  As you design your presentation, remember to creatively include the information that was researched.  Follow the steps below for your particular product.

Directions for Making a Power Point Presentation

1.      Get a Power Point Template from the teacher. 

2.    Record your answers on the pages provided. 

3.    Make any notes that you may need to get more information about or any questions you may need answered.

4.    Follow the teacher’s directions to complete your presentation.
