*Dolch Word Lists*

 

Your child can practice sight vocabulary by using the movies below. Dolch word lists are made up of 50-75% of the words that students read in textbooks, library books, magazines, and newspapers. These lists are divided into grades one through three. The first grade list is divided into preprimer, primer, and first grade. Sight words are words that students recognize instantly and don't have to “sound out”. Learning sight words improves reading fluency. Research shows that improving fluency improves reading comprehension.
