21st Century Classroom

The mission of the 21st Century Classroom at Red Bank Elementary School is to improve the instructional environment through the integration of technological resources. This endeavor will create a community of learners equipped with the skills and confidence to successfully meet the challenges they will face as citizens of the 21st Century.

This 21st Century Classroom is a fifth grade technology-infused learning environment. There are 2 teachers and 2 sections of students. Students spend part of each day working on a desktop computer with flat screen monitors, and the other part of the day is spent in a traditional setting in an adjoining room. Delivery of instruction is enhanced as technology is integrated into all core subject areas. Students experience and express learning through a variety of activities based on state curriculum standards and geared towards "real-world" applications.

This year Red Bank added a second similar technology-infused classroom. This fifth grade class is a self-contained environment with one teacher. Each student has daily access to a laptop computer in addition to other similar equipment.

The Curriculum:

* Regular fifth grade curriculum
