Technology Standards

ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) released new student technology standards in June 2007.
http://www.iste.org/inhouse/nets/cnets/index.html

2007 National Educational Technology Standards for Students
The technology foundation standards for students are divided into six broad categories. Standards within each category are to be introduced, reinforced, and mastered by students. These categories provide a framework for linking performance indicators within the Profiles for Technology Literate Students to the standards. Teachers can use these standards and profiles as guidelines for planning technology-based activities in which students achieve success in learning, communication, and life skills.

These six basic strands comprise the new national technology standards for students:

1. Creativity and Innovation
2. Communication and Collaboration
3. Research and Information Fluency
4. Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving & Decision-Making
5. Digital Citizenship
6. Technology Operations and Concepts
