How can I use Riverdeep?

Riverdeep can be used at home and at school.

 It is designed 

  • as an Instructional Tool for classroom teachers
  • as a resource for student learning
  • to support skills the teacher is teaching
  • to provide additional support where students need help, practice, or review

It can be used for

  • small groups with one computer
  • whole class with projector
  • computer lab

I can’t log in, what is the problem?

Make sure that your popup blockers are disabled.  An easy way to do this is to hold down the Control key while you click Login.  Make sure you have the correct username, and that you do not have any spaces in the username.

How do I create a new class?

  • Click the Class Roster button on the Home page navigation bar.
  • Select the Create tab.
  • Specify the class name in the Class Name text box and select the grade from the Grade drop-down list.
  • Click the Next button.
  • In the list on the left select the students you want to add to the class. They are highlighted with gray as you click them. Then click the right-pointing arrow to add them to the class. To remove students from the class select them in the list on the right and click the left-pointing arrow.
  • Click the Save button.
  • Then click Yes to create another class or No to go to the Manage section.

What if one of my students is not in the data base?

Contact your TIS and he or she can add them to the Riverdeep database.

Where can I view the Scope and Sequence?

Before logging in to Riverdeep, click on the Resource icon at the top of the page.

How do I create activities for my students?

How do I assign activities?

·         Click the Activities page button.

·         Select the Assign tab.

·         Select the activity you wish to assign and the class or student(s) you want to assign to the activity. Click the blue arrow button located to the left of the class. The button changes and reveals its classes. Click the checkbox to the left of each student or class you want to assign to this activity.

·         To preview a tutorial, lesson, practice area, workout, or screen, select its listing, and then click the Preview button near the top right corner of the screen.

·         Click the Next button to continue.

·         Enter a title for the activity.

·         Choose a Start date for the activity.

·         Choose a Due date for the activity. Leave the due date blank if you’d like to leave the activity open indefinitely.

·         Click the Assign button to finish.

·         A confirmation screen appears.

·         At that time, you can choose to assign another activity
