* There is full sunlight all day long throughout the entire summer - land of the "Midnight Sun."
* A famous occurance in the Arctic night sky is the aurora borealis, or northern lights.
* The North Pole is in the middle of the Arctic Ocean.
* Trees are unable to survive in the high Arctic because of the extreme low temperatures, high winds and lack of sufficient rainfall.
