Introduction
Before introducing this webquest to your students,introduce each author in class and read at least one book written by each author as a read a loud. Using this group setting to introduce the webquest will cut down on the amount of time the students will need to choose their favorite authors, since they will have prior knowledge of each.
This webquest was designed to be used in conjunction with a literature study in the classroom. The tasks may be modified to suit the individual needs of your students. They may complete the tasks individually or in groups. This is an extensive study of authors and their literature. Please make sure enough time in allowed to complete the webquest properly.

Process
The six steps included in the process should be completed in the order given. This procession will best take the students through their "Quest". Review each step with the students before assigning, to make sure they throughly understand each and are able to access/and print any needed materials.
The rubrics contained on this page were included to give the teachers some ideas on how the information may be evaluated. Some teachers may choose to score each task, others may choose to score the webquest as awhole unit, or you may decide to evaluate both ways. Examples of rubrics are included to give ideas for many forms of evaluation.
