It is great to be a part of the eighth-grade team at Beechwood Middle School! I am a Lexington native and a graduate of Lexington High School. I attended the University of South Carolina where I received a bachelor’s degree in history. After spending time in another field I went back to school and received my bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of South Carolina – Aiken. Most recently, I earned a Masters of Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina. I am certified in elementary and high school level social studies and am National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Adolescence & Young Adulthood/Social Studies certified. I have also earned endorsements in Advanced Placement US History, Gifted and Talented, and Teaching Children of Poverty. After 21 years of teaching at Lexington High School, I decided to make the change to middle school, and I am loving every minute of it! I am also an eighth-grade team leader at Beechwood. I live in Lexington with my husband and our four children. While my children and their various activities take up most of my spare time, I find time to attend sporting events and concerts and watch Live PD (it’s my guilty pleasure!). Go Bengals!!
