Choral Director and Musical Theatre

My name is Hannah Lea and I am the Director of the Choral Program at Lakeside Middle School. I also have the privilege of team-teaching with our amazing Musical Theatre team. I have been teaching music since 2011. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Presbyterian College in Music Education and a Master of Music Education degree from the University of South Carolina in Choral Music Education. I firmly believe every child should have an equitable opportunity to learn music, build their skills, and opportunities for exposure to a variety of styles and cultures. Music is the universal language and an accessible, creative way to learn important life skills beyond the classroom!

Outside of my work at Lakeside, I sing in several choirs in the Columbia area. In my free time, my husband and I enjoy getting away to the lake and mountains or hanging out on the screen porch with our dogs and cats. I love working on a variety of creative projects as well as spending time with family and friends. It's great to be a Raider and work with the best teachers and students around!
