English Language Arts Teacher

I am Kim Dunbar and I am honored to serve as a 7th Grade ELA Teacher at Lakeside. I grew up in Lexington-I attended LES, the "Old LMS" and am alum of LHS. It is such a gift to be teaching in the community that molded me. I began my teaching career in 2007 after I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Columbia College. In 2009, I received my Masters in Divergent Learning-also from CC...GO KOALAS! I taught in Lexington School District 4 before moving to Lexington 1 in 2018, where I taught at Pelion Middle. I am certified in Elementary Education, Montessori for lower and upper grades and Middle Level ELA.

Outside of school, most of my time is spent being Mom to my son, Mac. Mac and I chase around our hyper dog, Oakley. We enjoy exploring new places, swimming, participating in church activities and spending time with our family and friends. I am a huge University of Tennessee Vols fan because that is where my parents attended college, so in the fall-you will find me cheering them on and eating delicious tailgate food!
