Social Studies Teacher

I'm Sam Leitzsey, and I am proud to be a part of the Raider family! This is my thirteenth year teaching in Lexington One, which is also the district that I grew up in. I graduated from USC with both my Bachelor's degree in Finance and my Master's of Arts in Teaching (Go Cocks!), and I've added my Master's +30 in literacy instruction, gifted and talented instruction, and technology integration. After teaching multiple subject areas and grades, history has become my favorite to teach, and I have the most fun teaching sixth graders. I absolutely love what I get to do at Lakeside every day!

When I'm not at Lakeside, I love spending time with my husband and two young daughters, Ellison and Addie. We like biking at the beaches, finding day hikes in the upstate, seeing the Braves play in Atlanta, and spending lots of time with our family and friends. I also enjoy reading, Barre3 workouts, watching the Office, jigsaw puzzles, cross-stitching, hand-lettering projects, and am always planning my next trip to Disney World!
