The work of our school board members demands commitment—members invest hundreds of hours of personal and professional time working for and in our district. Successful board members possess the skills of diplomats, the knowledge of scholars, and the commitment of the truly devoted. In accordance with state law, 100 percent of Lexington One's Board of Trustees have completed the required orientation program in the powers, duties, and responsibilities of a board member including, but not limited to, topics on policy development, personnel, superintendent and board relations, instructional programs, district finance, school law, ethics, and community relations.
School board members carefully develop policies, take actions, and make decisions for our schools that reflect the values and expectations of the citizens of the Gilbert, Lexington, Pelion, and White Knoll attendance areas.
Our school board uses an online, paperless solution for posting agendas and attachments for easy accessibility. BoardDocs enables Lexington One to distribute information quickly and efficiently with greater transparency and includes search capabilities.
The board encourages our community to attend board meetings to become better acquainted with the operations and programs of the district. While the meetings are conducted for the purpose of carrying out the official business of the board, regular monthly board meetings include time for public participation according to Policy BEDH.
