McKinney–Vento Homeless Assistance

Students experiencing homelessness are not to be stigmatized, but are to have barriers removed for a successful academic experience.

• Doubled-up.
  • Sharing housing due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or similar reasons.
• Living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, or campgrounds due to a lack of adequate alternatives.
• Living in emergency or transitional housing.
• Living in a public or private place NOT designed for regular sleeping accommodation by humans (cars, parks, abandoned buildings, etc.).
• Unaccompanied youth living in above circumstances.

• Immediate enrollment, regardless the lack of proof of residence
• Continue to go to the school they were at before becoming homeless
• Automatic Free/Reduced Lunch
• Transportation to & from school
• Transportation to & from school activities (sports, clubs, etc.)
• Access to the same programs and services as other students, ensuring equal educational opportunities
• Confidentiality 

• Transportation to & from school
• District Pantry (school supplies, clothing, food, hygiene items)
• Reduced or Eliminated Fees
• Enrichment Programs
• Tutoring
• Referrals to Outside Agencies
• Assistance with Rehousing
