Flyers
Lexington County School District One provides electronic flyer distribution as a public service to share information about educational, recreational, community and family programs and events offered by community organizations. This service helps connect families to opportunities that benefit students’ wellbeing and learning outside the classroom.
To be approved your flyer must meet the following criteria
- Serve a Clear Benefit to Students or Families
Activities, events or resources must support youth development, family wellness, learning enrichment or community engagement.
- Flyers must not:
- Promote or endorse a particular religion or religious viewpoint
- Include language or content that violates federal or state law, including Title IX and other anti-discrimination laws
- Contain political endorsements or campaign materials
- Promote activities that conflict with district policies
- Contain advertising for alcohol, tobacco, drugs, firearms or adult content
- Involve events that present a risk to safety or wellbeing
- Promote private for-profit businesses with no educational or enrichment benefit to students
- Use the district logo or branding without written permission
- Contain offensive, discriminatory or inflammatory content
- Be submitted by organizations without a physical presence or programming in the local community
- Avoid Controversial Topics
Flyers must steer clear of disruptive topics or topics that could be considered inappropriate for school-aged children.
- Clearly Identify Sponsorship
All flyers must include the following disclaimer in a readable font (minimum 10 pt):
“This flyer is distributed as a community service to inform families of available activities and resources. It is not sponsored or endorsed by Lexington County School District One.”
- Include Contact Information
Flyers must contain:- Organization name
- Contact name
- Email address or phone number for questions
- Website, if available
