Lexington District One has focused on offering foreign languages to elementary school children for over 30 years. Today more than ever, we are dedicating to providing our students with a choice of programs and languages to better prepare them to be 21st century citizens and leaders.
Currently, Spanish is offered daily to all students through our Elementary Spanish program, beginning in 5K. Through our partial immersion program, other learners begin their journey into the world of languages and cultures. In this program, students have the choice to begin learning Spanish, French, German or Mandarin Chinese in 5k.

It is important to introduce foreign languages to our students at an early age. We are pleased to offer an expanding number of languages to our elementary school students. Between our Elementary Spanish and Partial Immersion programs, we offer the following languages to students:
- Chinese (Mandarin)
