Cognia names Lexington District One a System of Distinction

LEXINGTON, S.C. — Cognia™ recently recognized Lexington County School District One as a 2022 Cognia System of Distinction. Lexington District One is one of only 38 school systems worldwide out of more than 1,500 institutions that were eligible to earn this highest distinction, which identifies pre-K–12 education institutions that exemplify excellence in education and service to learners.

Lexington District One earned this recognition based on the results of Cognia’s rigorous Accreditation Engagement Review process. The process, which is based on research-based performance standards, includes a third-party review by education experts of evidence, interviews and classroom observations.

The district recently earned Cognia accreditation in August 2022 and can maintain its accreditation for a 5-year term.
