Important weather message

Dear Lexington District One Families:

All Lexington District One schools will dismiss early tomorrow, Tuesday, April 5, because of potentially severe weather predicted for our area.

This afternoon, Lexington County Emergency Management informed us that a line of severe storms, including the possibility of tornadic activity, is expected to move through our area Tuesday afternoon during school dismissal time and last into the evening.

For the safety of our students, staff and their families, we will dismiss at the following times.

  • Full-day, Pre-K programs and elementary schools dismiss at 11:20 a.m.
  • Half-day preschool programs (morning and afternoon sessions) will NOT meet on April 5.
  • Middle schools dismiss at 12:10 p.m.
  • High schools dismiss at 12:40 p.m.

All high school students who attend LTC or an Advanced Center of Study should follow their Collaborative Planning Day schedule. All College Center students should remain at their homeschool on April 5 and report to the front office for instructions for the day.

Lunch will be served tomorrow. All afterschool activities and sports are canceled for Tuesday, April 5.

The weather is unpredictable, and we may have to change plans quickly so please keep your phone or device close by tomorrow in case we need to communicate with you.

Also, make sure you and your family have a weather safety plan in place tomorrow in the event you would need it. As always, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority.
