Weather update: After-school activities

Dear Lexington One Families,

Due to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service, after-school activities are canceled on Friday, March 3, 2023. The one exception is after-school care at the elementary schools. However, parents are encouraged to pick up their children before 6 p.m. to avoid being on the roads when the forecast calls for the greatest chance for high winds.

District administrators were notified this morning by Lexington County Emergency Services that the updated forecast calls for frequent wind gusts around 40 mph after 6 p.m. As a safety precaution after-school activities are being canceled due to the potential for hazardous travel conditions, including strong wind gusts that make it unsafe for bus transportation.

Thank you for adjusting your schedules to help us keep our students, employees and families safe.

Sincerely,

Libby Roof
