German Virtual Exchanges

Even though travel has been restricted, German students have still had opportunities to interact with native German speakers. An ambassador from “German for Hire'' joined Frau Buckliew’s German classes on Zoom to interact with students in live discussions.

River Bluff is also a GAVE (German American Virtual Exchange) school. As part of the partnership, German 3 students have been paired with a student from Germany to exchange letters and make connections with language learners from across the globe.

Frau's German 3 Honors students and their Virtual Exchange German Partners are proud to share that their "Utopian Thinkers Wanted" project received honorable mention and a cash prize of $250.  Even though the World seems to be shutting down, the German 3 students at RBHS were able to partner up with German high school students in Burgkunstadt, Germany and come up with their idea of a perfect world.  Two languages, two cultures, to worlds apart: one common Utopia!
