Lexington County School District One is proactively addressing the future of its facilities through a comprehensive study conducted by external professional contractors. This initiative, launched in the fall of 2024, aims to provide a clear understanding of the current state of all district-owned buildings and properties, offering data-driven insights for future planning and investment.

The district contracted with McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture to undertake this critical assessment. With over 69 years of experience in K-12 facility design, their team of planners, strategists, architects and engineers is meticulously evaluating the current conditions of school buildings and properties. 

Lexington One recognizes that successful learning environments are rooted in healthy and safe surroundings that foster community involvement and accommodate diverse learning styles. The partnership with McMillan Pazdan Smith leverages their expertise to provide the detailed assessment data necessary for informed decision-making. This data will be instrumental in addressing key challenges such as managing capacity issues, quantifying facility needs and prioritizing long-term expenditures.
