Lexington Elementary School

Global Minds with Caring Hearts.

  • Elementary School (K-5)

At Lexington Elementary School, all students are given opportunities to practice leadership in a global context. Though the school is the center of learning, everyone - parents, teachers, administrators, and the community - take responsibility for the success of all students.

  • Dear Wildcat families, Lori Meyers

It’s almost time to come back to school and we can’t wait to have you back in person! There’s been no “kitten” around with our summer workers as they’ve been taking care of the grounds and the building.  Teachers head back for their first day on Monday, August 8th.  We will spend the week getting to know each other, having fun, preparing classrooms, and learning together.

Students' first day back is Tuesday, August 16th. School hours are 7:40 am - 2:20 pm (tardy bell rings at 7:40 am).  Drop-off for car riders will begin at 7:00 am in the front and back.

Lexington Elementary School is “the HEART of LEXINGTON.” We look forward to serving each other and our community through Global Minds with Caring Hearts.

    Online Registration and Teacher Assignment

    • Monday, August 8, we will begin sharing teacher assignments with families who have completed all steps for creating a parent portal and have completed online registration through the parent portal. If you need any assistance, we are open Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, excluding the following when the office will be closed for whole school professional learning:

      • Tuesday, August 9 - 7:30-8:15 am

      • Wednesday, August 10 - 10:00-12:30 pm

      • Monday, August 15 - 11:30 am-12:30 pm

    • If you are requesting bus transportation for your child, you will need to complete the bus transportation form that is located in the parent portal.  If your child is in 4K or 5K and you are requesting pm bus transportation, you will also need to complete the kindergarten bus transportation pick-up list to indicate who your child can be picked up by at the bus stop. Bus transportation forms must be completed in the Parent Portal by Wednesday, August 10 for students to ride the bus beginning on the first day of school, Tuesday, August 16.

    • Any time that you update your child’s transportation to bus transportation, there could be a three-day turnaround time before your child is approved to ride the bus.  If you believe you could need bus transportation, go ahead and complete bus transportation forms now in the parent portal. If needed, you can write a note to your child’s teacher in the future to change transportation.

Student Drop-In and Teacher Meet and Greet

    • Friday, August 12 is Student Drop-In and Meet the Teacher. Families can choose from 7:30 am -9:00 am or 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm to drop in.  You’ll be able to tour the school; meet your classroom, related arts, and special area teachers; join PTA and shop for spirit wear. For families who do not qualify for free or reduced meals, meal prices for the school year (2022–23) are listed below:

    • Elementary: $3.30

    • Milk: $0.60

    • Elementary: $1.80

Visit www.k12paymentcenter.com/ to upload money to your student’s meal account. Your meal account balance will transfer to the new system, Titan, before the first day of school.
