I began teaching English-Language Arts in North Carolina in 1993.  After moving to South Carolina, I began teaching social studies at Lexington Middle School and moved to Pleasant Hill Middle in 2011.  When Beechwood opened in 2019, I was glad to be part of this amazing place.  

At Beechwood, I serve as the social studies department chair. I have my degree in middle grades education from UNC-Chapel Hill, with concentrations in social studies and language arts.  I also have National Board Certification in Social Studies-History and am endorsed in Gifted and Talented Education.  

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.  I enjoy traveling, watching movies, playing board games, reading, and watching high school and college sports.
