Dear CES Families:

Beginning Tuesday, January 18, 2022, Centerville Elementary School will temporarily shift all students to e-learning for the week of Jan. 18 – Jan. 21. 

Students are tentatively scheduled to come back to school to resume face-to-face instruction on Monday, Jan. 24. 

Please know we did not make this decision lightly, as a shift in instructional model impacts all families.We made this decision based on the school’s percentage of staff who are positive and symptomatic. 

As of Monday afternoon, approximately 25% of CES staff are COVID-19 positive, experiencing symptoms or caring for an excluded child. And, that number is growing. 

Again, CES will shift to e-learning from Tuesday, Jan. 18 through Friday, Jan. 21. There will be no school-related clubs or activities during this time. 

Your child’s teacher will reach out to you with information about learning by Tuesday around 9 a.m.. During this e-learning period, your student is expected to participate in e-learning activities and complete work given to your student by the teacher. 

Families can pick up no-cost student meals on Tuesday, January 18 from 11–1 p.m., in the bus loop. 

If your student is currently isolated or quarantined, this shift does not impact the length of the quarantine as told to them by the school nurse. 

Thank you for your understanding as we work to provide quality instruction for our students, allow our sick staff time to heal and slow the spread of COVID-19 in our school.

A partir del martes 18 de enero de 2022, la escuela primaria Centerville cambiará temporalmente a todos los estudiantes al aprendizaje electrónico durante la semana del 18 al 21 de enero.

Los estudiantes están programados tentativamente para regresar a la escuela para reanudar la instrucción presencial el lunes 24 de enero.

Tenga en cuenta que no tomamos esta decisión a la ligera, ya que un cambio en el modelo de instrucción afecta a todas las familias. Tomamos esta decisión en función del porcentaje de personal de la escuela que es positivo y sintomático.

El maestro de su hijo se comunicará con usted con información sobre el aprendizaje el martes alrededor de las 9 am. Durante este período de aprendizaje electrónico, se espera que su estudiante participe en actividades de aprendizaje electrónico y complete el trabajo que le dio el maestro.

Las familias pueden recoger comidas para estudiantes sin costo el martes 18 de enero de 11 a 1 p. m., en el circuito del autobús.

Si su estudiante está actualmente aislado o en cuarentena, este cambio no afecta la duración de la cuarentena según lo informado por la enfermera de la escuela.
