Meet Dr. Postlewait

  • On May 31, 2022, Lexington District One Board of Trustees unanimously selected Dr. Gerrita Postlewait to serve as the interim superintendent. Dr. Postlewait replaced Dr. Gregory Little who accepted a role with the South Carolina Technical College System and resigned at the end of June.

With more than 22 years of experience, Dr. Postlewait most recently served as superintendent of the Charleston County School District for six years.

She previously served as superintendent of Horry County Schools for ten years, as well as Wetzel County Schools in West Virginia for six years.

Prior to that, Dr. Postlewait taught and served as a school administrator in multiple states, serving in urban, suburban and rural communities throughout her career. She also spent nine years in educational roles in the private sector.

Throughout her career, she focused on supporting the needs of students and educators so all children could flourish and grow as learners and individuals.
